Today I visitied my local AD to check out a Chronomat with MOP dial. I was surprised to find out that they will not remove links from the bracelet so I could get a better idea of how the watch would sit on my wrist. They said they would not remove links until I bought the watch. Is this standard procedure at all ADs?

They also tried to entice me to buy the watch today by coming down only 9% off the MSRP. Not exactly the type of discount I was expecting.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not surprised about not wanting to resize the bracelet. It's not something I've ever asked as they have always been close, but no, not surprised.

The 9% is a whole different story - drop jnelson3097 a PM.

My AD had no problem fitting the watch for me before I bought.

And they always have 20% off :)

Not a huge surprise to me, the chronomat is a bit of a hassle to pull links from. THe discount, as Roff said, is another matter.

Thanks for the help guys. The bracelet I kind of understand. However, I told the salesman, the retail is 6415 right? And he said yes what is it gonna take for you to walk out of the store today with the watch so I asked to come down from the MSRP. He then said well if we could do it for 5900 would that help and flat out said there was no way it would happen for that price. I know better deals can be found. Thanks for your guys responses though it is good to know these things when shopping around.

stinger...9% is way too low! If you can take a trip to NYC..go to Tourneau or other bigger chains..20% is the starting point..and I'm not sure if it goes higher but like Roff said definitley shoot for more than 9% thats not good..

regards
nick

If it fits... will you buy it?

Personally - I feel you are being silly.

You should start negotiating on price....... it is a great watch.

YOU WILL LOVE IT!
