I took my Super Avenger in to my local AD to have it regulated as it's gaining about 8 secs a day and the minute hand goes out of sync with the seconds dial, whilst in there I had a look at a couple of Breitlings which as long as the discount was right I was given the go ahead to buy by my good lady wife!

I had a look at 2 Montbrillant Datora's, a black dial on black croc and a brown dial on a brown calf with deployant buckle, a Bentley Motors T with anthracite dial, a Navitimer with black dial on a black calf and a brushed finish Blackbird with black dial, all very nice of course but which one did I buy................................................??

Answer: None!

I still keep thinking about a Cosmonaute with black dial on a black croco deployant clasp, unfortunately nobody has one but I was able to check out the Navitimer as mentioned above which is very similar in size, give or take .3 of a mm!

I felt the Datora's were too close to my Navi World, the Bentley Motors T was a VERY nice watch, but at an RRP of £2,000 more than a Cosmonaute, I couldn't warrant the extra cost, the Blackbird again was very nice, but I personally felt over priced for it's £4,100 price tag. The Navitimer was nice but had the baton markers and not the arabics.

I very nearly pulled the trigger on the Motors T, the dealer was pushing for a sale, but I'm sure I noticed the date stamp on the bracelet was 2005 and priced with an RRP of over £5,500.................... too much!??

So hopefully by Monday I will have placed an order for the Cosmo, that'll be all my favours, pocket money, good deed rewards etc taken up for the whole of 2009 so my Finance Director has informed me!

I understand your hesitation - all these decisions to make! It sounds like you followed your heart and went for the Cosmonaute which would be a good idea. There's no point in making compromises about these items. And, of course, the Cosmonaute is a very nice watch. Hope you get it soon!
