Thought I'd share an intersting encouter I had. Saturday I had lunch with some friends and one of them brought along a friend of theirs who happens to work for the Secret Service. He was a really nice guy, home for the holidays. I noticed he was wearing a Breitling Colt (blue face) on a (black) Diver Pro strap. Upon, further inspection I noticed it had an interesting emblem at 6 o'clock. I asked him and it turned out to be the USSS logo. I didn't really get to ask many more questions as he was telling about the shoe-thrower in Iraq. Evidently he was 6 feet from the President when it happened.

Nothing more to share really. Just thought I'd let you guys know the Secret Service has good tastes in watches. I know how you guys are about pictures but I'm sorry. I don't have any. I'm going to see if he'll send me a pic to post, but I'm not counting on it...

Regards,

Josh

Not much secrecy though.

It did last week! My friend said the Iraqi's beat the crap out of the shoe-thrower.

If anyone has ever earned a reason for a beating it would be that guy who threw his shoes. I'm not real interested in seeing video of it but think the guy probably had it coming.

Funny thing about the Secret Service, you would have thought they would have only let the guy throw maybe one of his shoes, but two!

Anyways, the whole thing was kind of comical and in the end I hope no one gets to worked up over it.

It would be nice to see a picture of the SE Colt the agent was wearing?

It would be entertaining  You assault a world leader, you should pay for the offense. I'm not saying the punishment is or isn't just... I would just like to see it.

It was not directly an assault. In their country it is an insult. He is not throwing the shoe to hit him or give him some pain. It is pure an insulting matter.

And beating up the shoe thrower very badly is in my eyes not fair for what he did. Some needles under his nails should be enough :)

Well, he is throwing at him ofcourse and yes, when Bush didn't duck for it he would had hit him, but the meaning behind it is pure an insulting matter. Otherwise he had thrown a shoe with a bomb in it ;)
