Since we are coming to the end of this year (and unless there is some surprise for you under the christmas tree :D ) what was your best or favourite purchase this year?

Well, I only bought one watch and I am still very happy with the Blackbird.

Looking for a white-dialled watch in the near future but can't make up my mind yet.

Steelfish with black dial and PRO II Bracelet/OR Strap
The AS Blacksteel was my favourite, but I have to say that overall the Steelfish has more appeal.
Best Wishes for the Holidays,
Carl

Two additions this year (so far!) - my Monty and my favorite which is my Blue Faced B-1. Mint non-SQ and £800 with full history, COSC, Box etc.

Got it on the Fighter bracelet but have added a blue sharkskin deployant (thanks to Doc Diesel) and a blue galuchat (stingray) band too.

I know a lot of people believe that a quartz has no soul etc etc but this is a truely magnificent and striking watch - ask any B-1 owner.

Any way enough of that - Happy Holidays to everyone on the forums and a special thanks to Nelson for his hard work over the year and also to the 2 mods who contribute a great deal to the site. Thanks Roff & D8.

My SA Blue old syle dial on Pro II. traded straight across. BNIB W/Papers. I never thought I would like the girth of a SA but I am sold.

Roff,

That's a cop-out! :? Come on, what's your favourite purchase
this year? Or one of your favorite purchases? Remember, it's
Christmas, and Santa would not want you to fib. At any
rate, happy holidays. :)

Steve

PS -- My favorite purchase this year has to be The Great Steelfish.

Not a cop out - more paranoia. I am about to buy one, and it will be my favourite, just playing it close until the deal is done.

Maybe it's just me, but choosing a favourite seems almost like betrayal of the others - kind of like choosing a favourite child :?

Sorry, Roff, didn't mean to pressure you. You're
probably right about the kid business, too. Anyway, enjoy
the holidays. :)

My favorite purchase this year was a White dialed SA with Baton Markers. I love this watch and always get compliments when wearing it. I hope this coming year to be able to acquire a montbrilliant Olympus, the whole perpetual calendar concept is of interest to me these days. Merry Christmas to everyone and thanks to all who have contributed to this forum. I really enjoy learning more about Breitling watches.

I'll go out on a limb and say it might be from a brand that starts with a Z?

Nope! :nana:

Still desperately want that, but the money doesn't make sense to me right now - a 25% increase when the economy is tanking just doesn't sit well with me. I am therefore spending too much on something else - all will be revealed before the end of the year - I promise.

I really tried to choose which one of the two B´s I got that was my fave, and I can´t decide. I love them both equally. Its like with the children...

And there is a small possibility that there will be a third one coming before this year ends... we´ll see... ;)

Now I´ll get back to sipping my xmas Quarter Cask Laphroaig, enjoy the feeling of total relaxation and maybe peek at my wrist occasionally, thinking back on a GREAT year when it comes to watches, music and life in general.

I hope 2009 will be even better. And that goes for all of you BS´s people!

God jul!

There has been too many watches this year, I think. :) I believe 5 new watches entered the collection as others were phased out. I entered the year with the intention to get either a Navi World or a Navi Montbrillant Legende, and I'm still very pleased with my Legende. During the year it has been great company through many special occasions.
