As someone who has gone strap-crazy with my four Panerais recentely, I bought over 15 straps in the last three months, not one of them which I can honestely say is of better quality than the OEM Breitling Straps! The thickness, color, stiching, and finish on them is just impecable!

I think I am going to give up looking for a black strap in the after market and just get the OEM strap, anybody know where I can get one for a reasonable amount?

I have bought OEM straps from Lee at SwissWatchStore in the past, and while they can't be described as cheap, they are cheaper than from an AD. (Certainly in the UK anyway).

I totally agree with you on the quality of Breitling straps, Altair. They really are the best I've seen.

The only other option I can think of (although I've not seen one in the flesh yet) is something custom-made from ABP Paris. I think Aleister was saying his blue croco ABP strap for his Chrono-matic are close to OEM quality.

It is very close. Not 100%, but maybe 95%. The croco is just slightly thinner, but otherwise it's great.

Can't remember what I am paying for a new croc now - the last one I got was about $400 - $450 with the deployant if I remember correctly. Might be worth contacting the guy who did the Blacksteel for you Altair and see what he can do if you remind him who you are.
