I just joined in Sept. of this year and i got to tell you, this is one of the best forums i've ever had the pleasure of joining. With all the knowledge , experience, how to's, AD help, and everthing else i could think of was answered quick and very professional, moreso than most AD's and that to me is priceless.... Let me say again guys, thanks to all the guys who helped.

Keep up the good work.
Donation happily made

Thx

Done.

I for one, visit this site probally three separate time a day. I really look forward to learning more about Breitlings and other luxury watches. I actually get upset when I have already read all of the post from the last time I checked in! For the most part I have established a remote friendship with several of you. I find it very comforting to know several of the more active members even by their real names!

Admin, you have seen a lot of growth since starting this project. I am more than happy to "kick in" even though it is not solicited. Everthing cost and you shouldnt bear the entire burden. I get a lot of enjoyment out of reading and posting here, so......

Merry Christmas,

Scott

It's a good idea to have a donate button for members who want to contribute with more than just posting. I'm planning to make a donation through friend's PayPal next week, but think that distincting donators above their avatars from a non ones is not a good idea.

I think there is one 'donation' that we should all make, and that's to make sure that we all play by the rules. I'm aware of one very obvious breach that admin, Driver8 and I have allowed for probably too long, but I would encourage everyone to read and adhere to the 'Just a few courtesies' post at the top of the Breitling Discussion area and the sales specific rules in the Buy / Sell / Trade area.

Hey bnewbie, why do you think that's not a good idea? It's actually pretty common practice on many boards.

Yes I know, I find it a little segregational at first glance. I think that posting a list of donors just like you did in the sticky topic would be more appropriate. But that's just me and my 'we should all be equal' stand. :)

As it looks to me now, bnewie, all contributors are equal except moderators. We all appear as "contributing member" rather than the previous rankings such as your "king of ling". But I doubt anyone really notices those things anyway. I always look just to see whenthe titles change. I wonder when one gets to "Lord of the Lings" as Admin mentioned? 8)

I'd say here's no such thing as a "typical" donation.

Admin has only put the donation option on here after requests from some members for there to be one, so I'm sure ANYTHING is appreciated. I'm not looking to speak for Admin here, but I don't belive he's looking to make money out of this, so a donation should just be a token of support IMO, but as I say there's no such thing as typical.

Right, a small donation as a token of support has been made. GREAT idea fellas, the amount of work that has been put into this website is, to say the least, substantial and has benefitted us all. I am glad I could contribute even in such a very small way.

I would say we should stay with the current software, seems to be doing a good enough job. We should put that money towards a busty watch model or three

Admin's the only person who knows what people are donating - I only know what I donated.

I know that admin wouldn't want this to be a money making issue, it's more a token of appreciation so use that as a guide - you can understand why I don't want to suggest a $ amount.

I think its pretty discreet, and I don't want ANYONE to feel like they need to donate. bnewbie, you provide tons of information on the forum that helps a lot of people out... as far as I'm concerned you are one of our most valueable members. What you help provide is what makes this board a great place.. and I and everyone else here respects you for that. There are tons and tons of other members on here just like you, some of which have donated, and some which haven't. The rank is just my way of saying thanks.

Heck if all you can afford is $1.. I will still give you a rank for that. Like Roff said, no one will know what you donated except me.

Altair, I do have to upgrade the software to phpBB3 at minimum, because phpBB2 will not be supported anymore in February. :( I think the route I will take is upgrade to phpBB3 and upgrade the MySQL container.
