I ordered some Cape Cod cleaning cloths (try saying that after 10 beers) and had a quick go at polishing my Tag earlier. Seems that you need to take a bit of time with it as I obviously didn't buff it enough and was left with a lovely black wrist!

I'm sure I've read about these cloths on here before and would be interested to hear opinions on them.

Thanks

After cleaning with the cape cods you need to wash in soapy water to remove the residue.

Then no black wrist.

I reckon these are excellent and do a cracking job.

There are others who swear by sunshine cloths but I haven't tried these yet - still life in the old cods yet!

If I recall correctly (which is not a dead cert) - the instructions say not to wash after.

Experience has shown this to be a bad thing, as you've found.

Toothbrush with a bit of Fairy Liquid and viola - good as new.

I always give mine a good buff off and then a rinse after use. I think the Cods were originally designed for silverwear which is probably easier to buff off completely unlike the little parts of a watch bracelet.

And of course a quick rinse will remove that "lovely" vanilla smell too!

Personally I've not tried the Sunshine cloths, but I swear by my Cods!
