The Breitling Watch Source Forums

Just a heads up that I am going to rant now. I'm not going to apologise because I think it's needed. I'm not going to regret posting this and I'm not going to enter into debate on the comments.

I am posting this as one of 2,000+ members, not as a Moderator. I haven't discussed this post with admin, or with Driver8, and I do not claim to speak for them

Nelson (admin) has put a huge amount of time, effort and personal money into building this site. In less than two years it has become the foremost resource for information on Breitlings. The forums are extremely active, you all know that, and members are conducting sterling efforts on shutting down the scammers on eBay.

At the same time we are trying to convince Breitling that we are a professionally organised group with high values that align with what Breitling stands for.

We have grown rapidly and the atmosphere on these forums is evolving in line - that's inevitable and I welcome it. It also means that every day we get new members who know nothing about what BreitlingSource stands for so maybe some reminders are necessary.

We are dedicated to watches in general and Breitlings in particular. We have young members and old members; we have male members and female members; we have many different nationalities, with all of the religious, social and moral values that entails.

We have provided an 'Off Topic Discussion' and a 'Post Your Funnies' section for non watch related material.

And yet every day there are more and more irrelevant posts that are not only insensitive, they are almost guaranteed to offend at least some members.

I can only speak for myself, but based on PMs received I am not alone, when I say that I don't care if you are tall or short, black or white, married or single, etc and I don't need or want to hear about your lifestyle unless it pertains to the watches that bring us to this community.

If your egos are so fragile that you need them stroked by people you have never met on a forum about watches then I feel sorry for you, but please get your help elsewhere.

As one of the early members, here....I 1000% agree with Roff. Lets keep it professional, about watches and family friendly. I do not want to have to worry if my kids are seeing bikini (or less) girl or guy over my shoulder while I am surfing here.

Oh yeah, I look at my ling about 5 times an hour while awake and usually twice at night. My lume seems to have particular staying power.
