I am thinking about picking up an old aviator style watch and would like your input. The Debaufre Nav B has the mechanical unitas movement, see thru back, steel case, blued hands and measures 48mm dia. by 13.8 thick, cost is $575 on line only. Chase Durer has the Warhawk, same movement, solid back, titanium case, white luminescent hands and measures 50mm dia. by 18mm thick. Cost is $895 U.S. retail but I can get for $675 in the Caribbean. I am leaning toward the Debaufre, but would like your input. Also, IMHO, I think the Chase Durer is at a higher price because of their marketing and OH costs, just a thought. Thanks, Bob.

I can't claim to be an expert in either brand, and neither does either piece really appeal to me, but from a pure aesthetics standpoint I would agree with you on the Nav B.

The downside of Debaufre is the lack of a dealer network for any issues, whereas Chase Durer does at least have a retail presence.

I like the Chase, I had one at one time it was a great watch. I also like the satin finish.

I think the Chase has a more appealing dial.

Not much in it looks wise - both are obviously very similar to IWC's Big Pilot.

I'd probably go for the Debaufre actually. It's steel, which I much prefer to titanium, and the DB would appeal to me more. Additionally the Debaufre has sapphire crystal while the Chase has "K1" crystal, which is more like mineral glass if I'm correct.

All good points, I'll think about it for while, once I acquire a piece, I will post some pics. Thanks for the input!

My friend has the Debaufre and its a very sharp looking watch. Chase is a little over priced I think. Good luck!
