I think a dark dial makes a watch look smaller. I had a Bronze SOH46 and it looked large to me on. I traded it for a black one and love the "size". I had a 44mm black Seawolf and it looked small to me when I put it on. I have a 44mm white dial M1 that looks ok to me. I think the Black SA is a little less available, very popular. I came very close to purchasing a 08 blue SA, I just could not get past the thickness. Just a little to much Breitling for me. Either dial is a good choice. The next choice is numbers or battons? I think the battons are new this year, my preferance if I were to pick one. There are many members on the Fourm that have SA's, it is a awsome watch. I guess I will have to wait for a Skyland with battons. Picking them out is half the fun!

Both colors look amazing. I would get the one that is different than any watches you currently have. It its your first watch, well, good luck deciding. Either way, I like the batons better than the arabics.

I have mostly dark dials, so white is starting to appeal more (though not an SA), but you really do need to try it on and see what works best for you.

I have a black dial one at this time and love it....but the new style white dial with hour post markers is on my short list..........pick the one YOU like the best right now and then plan on grabbing the other one in the future....good luck!

When choosing a SA dial color you have to take a few things into consideration. The watch is massive and flashy. A white dial is going to make it pop just that much more. If that is something that you want, go with the white. If you want to make this impossibly subtle watch a bit more subtle, go with the black. I went with the blue, but will probably change it to white down the line. The other thing you have to consider is just personal preference. You can't go wrong with either color, not matter what. Once you put one on your wrist you can't go back to a smaller watch. My personal preference is the arabic #'s, but that is because I wanted a change from my CSO

Just got the SA in white with the batons today and I love the watch. I personally like the white because it ephasizes the true size of the SA but it's just my opinion. I was in the same situation as you and I ended up picking the one I liked first.

Here is a link to the Japan Breitling website, where you can look at all the combinations:

http://www.breitling.co.jp/products/aer ... eravenger/

Seems like if you get the black dial with numbers, you get the white/silver subdials. If you pick the black dial with baton markers, you get the black subdials. With either white dial, you get white subdials. On that big of a watch, it's a bit too much white for my taste.
Personally, I would go with the black dial with baton markers and black subdials. However, the white subdials on the black dial make an attractive contrast.
Even with the great website, it is still of course best to see as many as you can in the flesh.
Cheers,
Carl

I prefer black, but I didn't find that out until I bought a watch with a white dial (well, silver). I still love it, but one is enough.
