i am looking at buying a used Breitling from a local ad in ontario, canada...it was purchased in Dubai at an AD by a friend..and then sold to the current owner.....he says he has all the paper work etc...but the date is not filled in as to when it was purchased (i assume on the warranty card)....will the serial # give me more info if i take it to a local AD for inspection to ensure it is authentic ??

Not that unusual to have undated warranty cards, but the AD should be able to call Breitling for confirmation that the serial number matches the model and colour and to confirm where the watch was first sold.

the price he is asking is within $450 of purchasing a new one (after my discount)....would you go used or buy new to get the warranty?
its a Steelfish...but i am really starting to like the Hercules......which again is another couple hundred ontop of the Fish

Remove the bottom (6 o'clock) portion of the bracelet or strap and there will be a 4 digit date code stamped on it. It wont tell you when it was sold, but it will tell you the week and year of manufacture. example: 1607 = 16th week of 2007
