I just recently acquired my first Breitling. I picked up a 1992 SS Headwind in mint condition that was just serviced for what I feel to be a great deal. I have enjoyed reading through the posts and have noticed that the members list their various pieces. My question is: I have yet to see anyone with a headwind in their collection. I love the watch and was specifically looking for a less busy dial as I have many other chronographs from different manufacturers. It has a reliable movement, great clean look, and I like the day/date function yet I see it nowhere else. Curious about the forums opinion on this piece. thanks

I like it very much, to me it is a clean and elegant "little brother" to the Chronomat. I was very close to bid on one on Ebay a few months ago - a TT version with Champagne dial, quite rare and classy.

The Headwind is a very nice piece. I just think that most people on here (myself included) just tend to favour the slightly more "busy-look" of the chronograph models. Having said that the Headwind does have devoted following and it is a very watch.

I love the Headwind - it's a very clean looking watch.

You have mixed some years. Headwind was introduced in 2001.

HE HE. I was also following this auction and if it wern't for forgetting about the auction ending time... I might own that watch now. As memory serves, it went pretty reasonable. That was a gorgeous Headwind. I really like the Headwind (expecially with a Croco strap!) and wonder why Breitling doesnt have a new model with day of the week window.
