Maybe I'm getting too old and it's time to step aside and make room for the younger enthusiasts who are obviously finding these attractive otherwise Breitling would not be making them.

I'm with you on that one Wessa.

I don't mind the black color of the DLC/PVD cases, in fact I think it looks good on a lot of watches (as do black ceramic and carbon cases). The part that I have trouble with is the wear the DLC/PVD coatings show, and on an expensive piece it is hard to accept for me. If it was a watch I knew I was going to keep for a long time I won't worry about it, but it really hurts resale short term.

I like the look of this all black Chronoliner with the black sub-dials, but at 46mm and it's price, not for me. I like the full length lumed hour markers, wish they would make an 01 Navitimer with these or fully lumed arabics like they did on the A23322 (still hoping).

I agree with both comments. While I don't necessarily mind the black DLC color on some pieces, the sheer number of them now is nauseating. The absolute best thing I can say about this model is that the black case combines well with the white markings however it just doesn't work for me at all. I do however like the Chronoliner itself, which is why I find it a shame.

The gold Chronoliner is the way to go, but I'm a huge fan of a black steel and this one isn't bad.

Breitling needs to put the B01 in that watch and yank out the warmed over 7750 for the prices they are asking.

I've gotta agree with you on that one.

The days of ETA and Sellita movements really need to be numbered in the more expensive pieces these days IMO.

Of course ETA/Sellita movements have their place and are absolutely fine in appropriately priced watches by appropriately positioned watch brands, but when the likes of Tudor are producing in-house equipped Black Bays and selling them for £2500, spending £5,560 on an ETA equipped Chronoliner (steel version) is a seriously hard sell for me. (OK admittedly the Black Bay is "only" a 3 hander vs the Chronoliner's chronograph, but the price differential is colossal).

I love it. It's something different !! Probably doesn't sit well with the Old School gang and there's many reasons for that. If marks and scratches is a bother then that's your poison. I wear mine lots. I'm careful but don't wrap the watch in cotton. So far I have some very small marks here and there but the watch looks 1000% better than he's silver brother. For me shiny Steel is just too "bling bling rapper" !!
