Hi dear members of the Breitlingsource forum!

I found my way here from a swedish forum and recently acquired a vintage breitling chronograph.

The watch measures 36 mm which makes it really elegant :)
The dial is in pretty good condition giving it was delivered without a plexi, but the hands have lost their lume. After doing some research I got the impression that it was made in 1941, but not much more! Im sending it to my watchmaker tomorrow to have it serviced and equipped with a new plexi and crown, I might relume the hands to match the dial.

What can you tell me about the watch? What kind of market value are we talking when the hands are "wrecked" or possbly relumed and the crown is non original (Im thinking post service).

looks like an early ref. 170; 39/40 I'd say, there is a similar WP ref. 171 in the early 40s catalog, same dial and hands.
what r the case dimensions, should be quite small, around 32/33mm ?

I wrote 36mm but are completely off... It seems 32-33mm is correct :)

Thank you for the information! If I service it I will have about 700 euro in the watch, would you consider that market value or to much?

Thank you :) Yeah the glossy dial is killer, and the color of the numbers are beautiful!

the cal. 170 chronographs are (still ?) quite undervalued, but w/ €700 u are on the safe side.

Ah okey, thanks :) I guess the size makes it less popular these days, but it sure is beautiful!

Does the outside case back have a reference number or is it plain?

Correct, but knowing that helps determine it's authenticity. I've seen too many with bad reference numbers added.

which is just fine for the period; was a bit worried w/ your 36mm claim, but you've clarified that. ;)
