Basically I think we can agree that list is a complete waste of time.

That all depends on who you ask.

Breitling compared to let's say Omega is hardly displayed. Walking through watch district of Lugano Switzerland, it becomes very clear to one person, that Breitling enjoys more fame here in US than in Europe. I love the brand and a few models but the brand carries same cache as Bentley here in USA all thanks to rappers and hollywood dimwits.

Same argument can be said for many brands. Rappers played out Rolex years ago. There are even some sophisticated ones these days that rock the APs and JLCs and tourbillons.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying that Breitling should be top of this list or anything like that. I'm merely saying that a list is only as good at the criteria it is based on, and I struggle with this particular list as the criteria is "the range of circulation, distribution net, the growth potential, team’s creativity and the effectiveness of the management and finally the principal group of customers".

A lot of that is very subjective ("team's creativity", anyone??), and the results can be further skewed depending on the weightings of each criteria.

To have any value, all criteria should be entirely objective - For example, you could have a list purely based on numbers of watches produced per year, or a list based on average cost across a manfacturer's range. All of these have clear cut answers. To base it on subjective concepts such as the growth potential, team’s creativity and the effectiveness of the management renders the whole thing a waste of time.......

.....at least that's my opinion anyway! :D

Yes indeed. Targets, goals and criteria without measurable metrics are rather useless.
