I bought a secondhand Breitling for around £800, It wasn't running very well and Breitling quoted me £450 for a service and refurb. I was gutted as there was no way I could afford it. I got into contact with a local jeweler whose brother in law worked at Breitling a while ago. He repaired and refurbed it for me for £90... Watch is now as new

Watch may be "as new" but non Breitling authorised means non-Breitling parts which means your watch resale likely dropped more than the GBP360 you "saved".

I hear you, but will not be selling this one so I am fine with it. But you are of course right, keeping it with the agents is the way to go... If you can afford it.

Well a quick visit to Goldsmiths today and they fully understood my frustration at the response i had from Breitling, they double checked their pics of my watch before it was sent away and agreed with me that it was free of any dents, and that the service should be carried out under warranty as the watch is only 1yr old.
I wore my Chrono Avenger Titanium which is 10yrs old and asked them what they thought its condition was, they seemed impressed so how could i possibly own a damaged 1yr old Navi World.
They also informed me that dealing with Breitling is a nightmare and that they have had a lot of Breitling customers having invoices for unneccessary work needing doing.
They say they will get onto Breitling to find out more for me.
