Really! I was under the perhaps false impression that the fungus looking contaminant can be brushed or washed off with the right fluid.
I was more scared about the goop that keeps the hands on the black dial. But - we should hear more next week from the Heists.

panda is a lost cause; lume is dead.
the all black COULD be saved; a gamble, but well worth a try.
I host on imgur as it allows u to easily choose the pic size to display; photobucket ..... su**s.

as this thread is read by many and I've posted the reference pics on TZ; let me post the correct dial variations for this case and hands u have:

digital 765 AVI, execution three hands:

analog 765 AVI "allblack":

panda configurations have a different bezel (and date range), as discussed; analog 765 AVI "reverse panda"

an option to consider MIGHT be to try and relume your panda dial, but it will be visible; especially as there is no realistic way to clean the subdials.
you could look at Breitling's reverse pandaa service dials, these are better (i.e. closer to the original design) allblacks.

Fred - Vielen Dank!!

This does explain it. I was thinking more of the dial surface than the lume. As you correctly state, it is dead, and doesn't even respond to UV light.
I though of reluming, but you have a point that it would look weird if the dial can't be cleaned.

Fred,

I forgot to ask - Do you happen to have a picture of the Breitling service dial for the Panda?

Thanks!

Rene - Nice shot! As Fred said, those look much nicer and closer to the original.
