If your watch loses or gains 1 second or 10 or 20 seconds a day..... When do you alter it back? At the end of the day?, every week? every few hours?
Do you worry about the wear on your screw down crown ?
It's always been something I've though about, what's the best way to deal with losing or gaining seconds or even minutes in some cases every day? Without adding excessive wear to the crown.
I'm really interested in your views as to the way people feel is best to deal with the inaccuracies that all automatic watches suffer from.

Mine runs a little fast, 3 or 4 seconds per day. After 4 or 5 days I pull out the crown at the 60 second mark and push it back in when the real time catches up

Normally runs faster between 0 to 3 sec per day. Not a problem to me because by the time it is inaccurate to a mere 30 sec it would have been more than a week and I would have rotated to another watch so normally I would just let the watch wind down till it reaches the end of power reserve and reset again when I wear it. Else I would just pull out the crown to "slow down" the timing which is an easy task.

Mine runs fast or slow by +- 3 sec per day. I reset mine every time I have to change the date. Basically every 2 months. I have 6 mechanical watched so resetting more will be a mission.

My Sinn and Chronomat are a few sec slow per day so when I adjust them, I set them 10 sek before exact time and don't touch 'em for more than two-three weeks or when they wind down (or at date change).

Moonwatch, I didn't time precisely, but it is a few sec fast per day and I always set it approximately (but it has no screw down crown)

I have two SQ Breits so when I want exact time I look at them. They are unbelievably precise.

I adjust mine when its noticeable, which is generally when it's getting towards 5'ish minutes off time. That might be once every couple of months or so. I also keep my watches on winders so as not to have to wind them every other day. Having said all that I'm not overly worried about over-using the crown, I just prefer not having to wind that many watches all that often.

I reset the time when I adjust the date, which is about every other month or so. I originally was doing it every week. Went to when the date needed adjusting.

I'm just like Tim S on this one - I only either change it when it gets to a noticeable gain (i.e. 5 mins or so), or I take the opportunity when I need to adjust the date. Other than that, I've been around mechanical watches long enough that I'm happy to just let slight inaccuracy slide.

On my hacking seconds watches, I update when they are about 30 - 45 seconds seconds off. I guess I'm a little anal. Funny thing is, I have an appreciation for watches without second hands because of this, plus they are easier to set.

Finding my B01 movement to keep time very well, so like a few others have said, only alter time when altering the date!

Breitling are superb timepieces, considered others but none have the same appeal.

I'm not too bothered about super accuracy and I normally set my watches a couple of minutes fast which ensures that I'm not late.
Mrs. Wessa sets her watches 10 min fast to ensure timeliness however a few tense moments could have been avoided if it was 30 min fast

It's been interesting to see what different people do. I've got a Breitling which only loses +1 a day so that's no problem but my Doxa ,Omega's and some of my older auto's vary between +-6 and +-15 secs a day. My kinetics around +1 secs a week.
I'm just going to leave them a while and not worry too much about it.

I alter the right second on my Emrgency 1 (with certification of chronometer) 1 time every 3 month (more or less).
But only for the right second. The difference is 1 second.
