Hi there you guys. I am a new watch fanatic and bought my first watch. it has been a dream for a long time. Its a Breitling Superocean Heritage (just like the one on the photo) I bought it at an airport and when I came home(Iceland) i went the next day to the Breitling retailer to get the bracelet shortened. I get into the shop and take it out of the box. The owner of the shop was the one I was talking to. As I said I took it out of the box, and when he sees it he says. Im sorry, but this is a fake watch. Breitling has never produced a model like this one. i say: excuse me, but this one is in your catalog. He says: Its not true. I told him to show me the catalog and i pointed my finger on the watch. He said. It was still a fake. I was and am shocked. This is maybe not a model you see everyday, but as a customer I dont want to be treated like this. This isnt like i was buying a cheap DKNY watch. Where can I send a complain?

Doesn't look fake to me - it it is, it's a damn good one! Maybe that AD doesn't know his arse from his elbow - or maybe he does? but with the statement "Breitling has never produced a model like this one", I suspect the former.

Watch is real and the AD should loose his dealership.

The funny thing was that the persen I was talking to was the owner of the shop and trating a customer like that is an outrage. I didnt pay that much money to get that treatment. I was joining an exclusive club wasnt I?

Here is a pic. I took it to the dealer in the leather case. He didnt even take it, just looked at it and said what he said.

Hi Dreso - welcome to the forum. You say that the picture you posted isn't of your actual watch. Any chance you could take a couple of pictures of your watch and load them up for us to have a look at?

Is it possible the SOH wasn't sold in Iceland for some reason? I guess in Iceland you've only got one AD. Pity if their staff are idiots.

Did you tell him you bought it at an AD in an airport? Maybe he assumed you bought it online... and just wanted to be snooty..?

Well it looks alright to me! If I was you I'd try the AD again, but if you still do not get any joy, contact Breitling SA direct, explain the situation and ask that the AD in question is "retrained" accordingly.

Id take it back in and explain (again) that you bought it from an AD and know its real. If he treats you the same, definitely contact Breitling and let them know about your experience.

there is a very good fake of this watch but if you bought it at an AD there's like 0% chance it's fake

There is no good replica of the SOH38, only of SOH46 and SOHC.
