So about a month ago I shared with you all that Breitling told our SE group that there would be a delay in shipment. This was due to the engraving on the casebacks (it was taking longer than expected) and they would obviously not start assembly until they had all the backs. I do have to say that they were very up-front with the delay and did not hide it from us...they let our coordinator know as soon as they detected an issue. The original estimate for completion/delivery was the September/October timeframe, and with the delay, we were promised them by December.

So this morning I check email before going off to work, and the coordinator has written us again...he has received watches, and right inside the original time estimate! My heart skipped a beat until I read further down...the first shipment of watches arrived, exactly 33 of 38 ordered...and guess who was one of the five that had not arrived yet? Yours truly of course...bummer. :(

The Breitling contact said that the remaining five will be shipped "soon," hopefully within a few weeks to a month. No reason was provided for the delay, only that they had been delayed. I checked the list and my engraving was no more complicated than any other watch, so that is not the reason. The coordinator suspects that the engraving was done in blocks, and mine was part of the last group. And when mine finally arrives in the States, the coordinator will still have to ship to me here in Germany, so that is at least another 10-14 days in addition to this delay...ugh.

The good news is that the coordinator said they look perfect! He said he checked watches as people who were located near him picked them up yesterday, and everyone was exactly as ordered. He said they are a thing of beauty (of course) and he already had his resized and on his wrist.

Anyway, I am excited that we are sort of back on track, but bummed that I was not in the mix for the first batch delivered...hopefully it will not be much longer, but I know it will be worth the wait. I am really trying to stay upbeat about the whole thing, but it is not easy...

Ouch, that's a little bit like "look, the rest of us is having a party but you're not old enough".

Good to hear though that the delivery came already, instead of december, and that if yours takes another month plus shipping to Germany you should have it before december is over. I hope it comes quicker, and so do you of course.
