I didn't get the last item with my purchase of the watch. It did however come with a nicely finished watch box with a high gloss black finish

How'd you do on price? Did Tourneau discount it at all?

They would not budge one cent unfortunately. I went back a total of 3 times and still no discount. The other Navitmers there besides the LE, he was willing to negotiate at least 15% of the price.

Thats a nice looking Navi. For the money thats about right for any LE Navi these days. Definately the lowest production number I've seen for a LE in some time. I just picked up a black eyed blue Navi LE. Another newer dial/sub color combo. Congrats.

Yes your right! From what I have seen this specific version of the LE is by far one of the most limited runs from all the research that I done before I purchased it. I think there was another limited run of 56 but I can't remember which version LE Navitmer is was. Hopefully with a lower exclusive run using the B01 movement this will help keep the resale value a little higher than the others, as Breitling are known not to.

I purchased this piece because I love it so much and selling it wouldn't even be a factor but the low production numbers definitely gives it a mystique feeling having ownership of one in the world out of 50!

The run of 56 that you mention was the first edition of the Honor Flight Watch released in 2013. Although 50 is a limited number it has been my experience that even small limited editions tend to hold their value along the lines of the watch utilized in the edition. Govberg Jewelers had a limited edition of 50 B01 chronomats commission and had a difficult time selling them. With any limited edition that it is marketed to a specific group the desirability is normally limited to that group. Would I pay more for a watch that was directed at F-16 pilots, not really, but an F-16 pilot might! BTW congratulations on the watch, I have seen it at Tournea and it is very nice!

I agree on your assessment of limited editions production for a certain group like your example "F-16 pilots" which will not appeal to all masses, but this Tourneau LE model Navitimer unique difference is the color combos of the face and dials. This watch has no signature or writing on the face to commemorate a special event or group that the limited run is suppose to be honored. The only sign of its limited production run is the engraving on back of the watch case that has the Tourneau name and the specific number of the limited run. With that said IMO it would make it retain more value in the future because it has no specific group it targets.

We could discuss this all year but I am willing to bet that it will retain the same as any other similar age navitimer that is on the market five years down the road. The fact that it has "Tourneau" engraved on the back may be a turn off to many in the future. Plus you will have to account for paying list price for the watch when they are currently available with discounts of approximately 20%! Don't get me wrong, I love the watch, however if you do a little research you will find that the resale of Breitlings, current LE's included, leave a lot to be desired!

Discount of 20%. Really. I can still return the watch as I paid the listed price. Please pm me the connection that you know of to get the 20% off from the same identical watch. Thank you. I tried to get any discount to no avail. I went to two Tourneau dealers, one at Roosevelt Mall in Long Island and the one in Manhattan. My salesman said if there was any discounts let him know but he was not allowed to discount it. Thank you in advance to saving me some coin. I see your located in New York also which helps!

Tourneau isn't going to discount but I think he was implying that other LEs were sold for 20% discounts. While there may be a slight premium on resale, I don't think the value will hold even though anyone who buys one will have paid full price.

Thank you Justin. On occasion Tourneau may offer a discount, just before Christmas I was visiting the Roosevelt Field store that the OP bought the watch at. At that time they were offering a rebate of 10% and they were willing to "work" with you on most models. The watch the OP bought was specifically excluded. The trouble with Tourneau's pricing is that they want you to pay MSRP and then charge you tax on top of it. Here in the big apple that's another 8.5%. As much as one would like to establish a relationship with a local AD, Tourneau makes it extremely difficult. I have found all of my best bargains out of state where sales tax is waived for out of state residents

They did offer me 10% discount, however the catch was to open up a Tourneau credit line and charge the entire bill on the credit card to gain the most discount, but the rebate was store credit only! 56scooter is correct as I had to pay the state tax ontop of msrp. So I got it on both ends! Lol

Thanks again guys for clarifying. For now I will enjoy it and not think about how much I overpaid!

The next watch that has caught my interest is the SA. I have to save up some more coin for that as the wife would kill me if I did a impulse purchase

I will channel my addiction and overhaul my 1979 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust (16014) which needs a little sprucing up since my dad has given it to me over 4 years ago. This watch need some TLC

There are always deals and discounts out there. Don't worry about what you paid or didn't pay. If you love the watch, then that's all that matters. Sometimes buying the watch in a boutique or AD is about the experience and feeling you get when the purchase was made. I've bought used, grey market new, and retail. Every retail boutique purchase was worth paying the extra $$ for me. They treat you like royalty and sometimes it's nice to get that kind of service. Just my $.02
