That might be one explanantion, but if you go to Breitling.com and check out the "new models 08" you will see that the second watch on the sliding menu is named Avenger Seawolf, but the picture is a Blackbird.

What amateur did their website???
Mario, get in touch with them and help them out!

What's anyones thoughts on a all black version of the AS or SA? I personally would be interested in a LE that is all black. Seems to be a popular trend right now. There was an interesting article about this trend in the October WatchTime issue.

I just looked again at the SA Blacksteel official site. That is amazing that the one pic really is the Skyland Blacksteel.
With the big difference being the red on the upper subdial, it really is hard to tell the difference.
Being a Sklyand Blacksteel owner, who is getting ready to sell his watch, I will really be curious as to what the new SA will do to the value of the Skyland model. The Skyland was, at least, a smaller edition of only 2000, but the SA is 3000. It is almost, to me. like saying the Blacksteel is now a Limited Edition of 5000. I believe a lot of the Blacksteel exclusiveness is lost by the introduction of the SA model. At least they could have used an Ocean Racer strap on the SA and given the clasp the Blacksteel treatment. I do realize that the Ocean Racer strap is almost $400. more than a Diver Pro. Even the stenciled numbers, although attractive, are too much like the Skyland.
I think I will wait this one out before I try to sell my Blacksteel. I am waiting for word from my AD about the cost of replacing the bezel on mine, as it has a tiny scratch which has gone deep enough to show the metal under the coating, albeit a tiny pinhead-sized scratch.
Anyway, I think the next few months will be very interesting to see what kind of impact the SA has.
Cheers,
Carl

Well value is irrelevant to me as I never sell watches that I buy as keepers, but the similarity doesn't bother me. I got my AS Blacksteel for what I consider to be a very reasonable price and don't feel cheated by the SA - my watch still says xxxx/2000 on the back

Given that list price of the SA is quite a lot higher than the AS I don't think that the market is going to be too depressed, but I can understand your perspective of wanting to wait until things settle a bit.

carlhaluss spotted the problem.........

.................all that on a Diver Pro

What are they thinking - they have an amazing and superb product in the Ocean Racer and they put a beast like this on the ols rubber strap - someone in Switzerland needs a kick up the bum - hard!

I suspect that there are problems with a DLC deployant.

It looks great, and I want one, but my recent purchasing has probably put me out of the game for the rest of the year if I've got any sense remaining :) . I also suspect it's going to be a bit too expensive to justify by the time it arrives here.
