I am new to the forum and to collecting vintage Breitlings...does anyone have an opinion about this watch? Thanks for your input...am wary about EBay listings, especially after reading some of the horror stories here...thanks, Rob

Here are my first two finds...regards, Rob

I am also in the market for a vintage Datora and a Unitime (the one with the globe and cities listed around the edge) Let me know if you have one or know of one for sale, stainless preferred, regards, Rob

Welcome to the forum. The watch looks correct... I would point out, the slide rule is correct but appears to be quite crisp compared to the patina of the dial and darkened Lume. Could be original but would need to loupe the edge of the dial to know for sure. Only other thing is the middle subdial hand appears to have been recently painted? Could just be the lighting. The length of the middle subdial hand also appears a bit long, but perhaps someone who collects the gold Navitimers can confirm (I have a fear of gold). Good luck!

Hi Rob
nice to see you here as well !
the middle subdial hand of the gold is incorrect , finding a correct one will be virtually impossible
the rest of the watch looks good to me

Rgds
Rene

welcome to the forum, first of all let me congratulate you on those two first pieces, lovely Cossie and an exceptionally beautiful steel ref. 769 !

the watch you linked to is in overall exceptional condition too, I see no issues with the dial, assume these are only reflections on that first picture, no indication of dial work on the other pics; the sliderule's condition is not consistent with the rest of that watch and might be a (correct, as Eric points out) later service replacement.

The hour counter hand is the only "issue", it is quite a bit too thick, clearly a service part and no perfect fit.

still, overall, a very, very good piece.

Thank you all....just want to avoid a mistake...overall I think it is a pretty good example for the period...and I might add that I wear these every day, so i want to enjoy them before I am room temperature...may have to spend some more time searching but the New Yorker impatience in me is saying take a shot at it...any idea what the upper end of value would be on this one....would like to have an all black dial one...time is on my side i guess, no pun directly intended....the insanity of my collecting experience goes back to restoring vintage motorcycles...having moved to Manhattan, i realized that watches take up less room and are perhaps safer...unless checking the time while crossing a street, LOL Regards, Rob
