Fake slide rule, wrong hands, subdial hands, dial likely relumed..... Subdial refinished?... I'm sure there's more...

Didn't someone figure out where the black accent slide rules were printed?

I wouldn't buy the watch either way, but it is a fun exercise.

It appears a refinished dial, look at the borders around the sub dials, they are messy... additionally the lines inside the sub dials are sloppy and uneven (they continue way too far after the angled edge) and the font is unlike any I have seen before. I am certain the subdials were redrawn and as certain as I can be without better photos that they were repainted white or touched up...

Secondly, look at how patinated the dial is compared to the lume plots. There is a moderate concentration of moisture-related patina around the edge of the dial...which is why the slide rule needed to be replaced. the bright yellow lume doesn't really match up with the "story" of the dial, which is why I would say its been relumed.

if you click the link you can zoom on the photos and its much more obvious.

I think you should buy it so we can know for sure! :-p

Good points. I zeroed in on the logo, which looks like the service dial style. You observations look right.

Don't think, that this is a service dial. Looks reprinted and relumed. Very strange...

The Breitling service dials had big subdials and the four red triangles and the red 10, the (very sharp) lume-indexes were cutted near the subdials.

The sliderule is maybe from Bethge/Pforzheim.

Best, Ralph

You are right Ralph.

out of curiosity i figured I'd ask the seller about it, to see their response... and they confirmed it was a "refinished original dial". They also added "it's very beautiful"
