I don't really love anything about them. Both of mine, 19 and 16 years old, have been a pain in the ass since I bought them. I still wear them regularly, though.

Where (how) do you wear them  ?

I take quite good care of them, keep them on the winder when not in use, and service them regularly. The just don't run well. Breitling service is crap, also.

There's always a bad apple that bitches about everything. I'm on my third and quite literally the only quasi-complaint is it seems B has perfected the lube that only lasts precisely five years (lol): but the upshot is post-service, it's like having a brand new piece again.

I beg your pardon; "bad apple?" Do I know you?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but go f**k yourself.

Hmm and how do you suggest he should take it?

ahhh, this is a courtesy awareness thread... NOW i get it! ;-)

back to the subject:

love breitling because:

- not a fan of bragging / jewellery / gold / diamonds / etc., but these watches are a statement! NOT, "i'm loaded", but "i like distinctive classy (or sporty) watches"...

- creativity / entrepreneurship... as OP said, the modern chronograph is pretty much a "thank you leon breitling" thing...

- link to / support of aviation and the "instruments for professionals" motto... including airplane chronometers for WWII aeroplanes...

- either very "chic" or very "rugged", but either way, robust design and resilience...

- as OP said, i am amazed and sooo pleased that, in our crazy digital age, such craftmanship and quality can survive, yet be so efficient...

- timelessness!!! is any navitimer EVER go out of style? no way!

and i could go on and and on, but i'll stop here because i'm sure you want to get back to the courtesy crash course above! ;-)

cheers,

I'm not (yet) the proud owner of a Breitling watch, but still i'd like to add my few cents to this discussion if you allow me to 8)

Personally, i'm a techie, a nerd, or however you want to call it. I like tech stuff and that's also what i search for in a watch, there must be something special. One of my previous watches has been the Fossil WristPDA for example, a true smartwatch even before the term smartwatch existed :) I even hacked it to get an internet connection on it :P
Now move over to the luxury department. While all the watches may be beautiful and complex mechanical devices, they don't attract the nerd in me. With Breitling this seems a bit different, expecially the quatz analog/digital combi's look good to me and i haven't seen any other brand doing similar things.
