Hi there,

Wanted to share my recent experience which was rather unnerving. Spotted a jet team Chronomat 44 at a boutique couple of weeks back. It's in black steel, on a diver pro III strap with folding clasp and supposed to be a limited - cum - boutique edition.

First time it was all wrapped in plastic and brand new on display. I made up my mind after a while, asked them to hold it, went in to pick it up. Heard of so many B01 issues in general. I was 100% sure they would have ironed out the issues with their in house movements. Moreover, it's a limited edition watch which they are bragging about gifting one to each of those rich enthusiasts with a customised Bentley to match with the pilots. It should be THE PERFECT PIECE ;) i thought! Anyways, was checking the navitimer 01 46mm, the montbrillant 01, the Chronomat Raven in orange which is again a limited edition.

Meanhwile they removed the plastic on the jet team watch, sort of getting it ready for the sale. I started the chronograph on it, stopped, reset it, looked around it for damages just in case. Started the chronograph again. After a few minutes of talking, I picked it up to stop the chrono and wallah! :poke: The top pusher piece went numb, sort of lost the clicking mechanism and wouldn't stop the chrono. The boutique personnel didn't even know what I was pointing at. LOL

I was just devastated looking at it, happen right in front of me. Even though it was a first time experience, I was taken aback enough to be a mile away from any In house movements for now or at least a little time to come. They tried everything that a normal person would but obviously the watch was faulty. There was nothing to be done....

As usual, they said they'll raise the issue and return the watch to the brand ASAP. They promised to source another one at the earliest but the following day I emailed and admitted that I've lost confidence in it and lacked guts to spend big bucks only to test the watch for them

I went in for a chronoliner instead which was also on my mind since its launch at Basel 2015. Was a close call but saved at the end. It's so relieving to have the good old Valjoux movement. It's perfect!!

Not a good showcase for the in-house movement there at all!

To be fair, the number of (mechanical) in-house related issues reported here seems to have declined dramatically over time, and that is always to be expected with the introduction of any new movement. (Obviously the B50 currently stealing all the headlines when it comes to new movement issues!)

Glad your Chronoliner is holding up a little better! I actually saw my first Chronoliner at an AD the other day - very nice looking piece in the flesh. Nice pick-up.

You bet! Was disappointing for the boutique guys as well to discover the limited piece in that state.

Thanks mod. Yeah, the chronoliner is serving me well.

Even though issues have reduced, I didn't expect it on a limited edition watch in 2015 - was a pleasant surprise actually. I'll need some cooling time before I can pull the trigger on any in house movement in the future. But it's just my personal opinion :geekfuman:

Yeah, the B50 discussions are huge, aren't they?! My B50 is sort of holding up right now, fingers and hands crossed

Hi Jon. I followed your posts in other B50 threads. Are you expecting yours back very soon?

Good luck and I'm sure you can enjoy it to the fullest once back like Emile and other users..

Oh...that's not too far, since you've had to wait this long anyways! The same day as you go on holiday huh :guns: patience tester again. But please put up an update after u get it. It's good information for others like me when I was initially scouring the forums for B50 issues.

Good luck...

Although it sucks that you had a problem with the top pusher and chronograph, do you think it is indicative of all of the Jet Team Chronomats and the B01 movement? I like the watch a lot, and have been wanting to buy it for a while.

Hi there. I agree with you but partly. I loved the watch so much that I was gutted. Sometimes, it's hard to express but the first impression lasts. It's just me! Also, if only I were to finish the payment that day, I'd have been gutted to return it right away for repair or replacement as the case maybe. It sort of keeps u on an unhappy spot.

By the way, lot of users, after hearing the B50 issues have backed off. My B50 has behaved since purchase. So, I guess it's relative bud.

Right now, I'm on a hunt for the older chronospace jet team LE watch. I hope I get it, and I also hope you get the right chronomat 44 LE jet team 8)

It's fortunate that it happened at the store.
