Hi everyone,

I was handed down this Breitling when i got married, but even the specialists i take it to have never seen it before.
I believe it is 1960-1964
17 jewels incabloc
all original (except strap)
Runs extremely well

If anyone out there recognises it (see pic), please let me know.
Thanks!!!

sorry to say, but as nice as it may be to you, it wasn't produced by Breitling

so we'll soon have an argument about this statement - there ARE "extremely rare" Breitling, but they have (almost) all been either documented in catalogs an/or advertisements; three very, very late models that were launched in the 1970s shortly before Breitling was forced to close down are an exception; but these have appeared in multiple examples over years - and there still is a shadow of doubt about them in the community.

we have spent years documenting all Breitling models - this isn't among them.

Yes, there are some some documented prototypes of models never launched, but these are only minimal adaptations of existing models - and thousands of knockoff pieces claimed to be "extremely rare" .....

Thanks everyone - i'm fascinated and grateful for your feedback far. One individual suggested it might be a prototype. If that was verified, would it have any value at all?

It comes from a family where i highly doubt they'd ever own a fake, so i'm wondering if that might be its provenance?

Please keep thoughts coming!!

Thanks

you could help us by supplying addition pictures of inner and outer caseback plus movement. as said, I highly doubt the prototype theory.

the dial & logo print is far inferior to typical Breitling quality - and prototypes were produced w/ impeccable detail.

There's a cottage industry making these and you can see quite a few, including the OPs, here:
