Another strange dial:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/131544870302?ssP ... 1436.l2649

Examples:
No carets in the second circle (1:10, 1:20, 1:30, etc)
CHRONOMATIC without - (which had the very first 1806)
Different "G"s in Breitling and Geneve

Normally I would say, it's a reprint, but the lume looks not new and not machine made. And the bezel is also not a replacement ;-)

I have now seen three different watches with this type of dial.

What is your opinion?

I had it down as a reprint when I say this one...

Now not sure.

I'd be very surprised if this was the original lume

Will: the dial you've liked to is the earliest 1806-dial variant and it's original! Damn I missed it! The Very first 1806-dials had indeed no - in the chrono(-) matic sign and they had also a metal frame around the date window.

i don't know wich date we saw this one in the magazin

and also

we know, that not all version we can see "on paper" really ever reached a jewelier or client.

the early(est) 1806 should have black date and open (and also perhabs) phantom hands
(that's what we can read about - i don't know).

here what we see in a german catalouge 1972 and on the yellow box we know

"CHRONOMATIC"

regards

Stephan

in my opinion the the phantom hands really make sence on these early 1806 watches,
because we find them also on 816 and also for example on the Co Pilot fried egg 7652

and all these watches most time have early serial numbers from 1968

Hi everyone, I bought a Navitimer 1806 in 1974 when I started my career in Aviation. The watch itself is perfect working condition but there is just a slight problem. The numbers on the Bezel started fading (maybe the harsh sun here in Western Australia). Is there still a chance to buy a new Bezel? Thanks....
