Hello you all:

Sometime ago, I asked about the authencticity of a 8808 and I got an answer telling me that it is OK (Thanks a lot Fred). But today I have received pics of the movement and engravings and I would like to ask the experts if it is ok or not.

I was going to say perfectly correct until one of the last pics, case is from a 8806, a small case Navitimer Chrono-Matic, not the 8808 Chronomat, so sadly incorrect.

a bit kate for a cal.112, but we see a lot of such inconsistencies in the last production years, troubld times and the manufacturers were using up all the parts they had in stock.

So.. It is a 8806 not a 8808 or it is a franken watch?

we have seen many such watches from the last production years, but there is no way to verify whether this was really a late "desperation watch" oassembled by Breitling or if somebody assembled it from the spares stock, both possible. Strictly speaking the watch is incorrect, a mix of two models.

In the same range of idea , there is a consistant number of 7806 with a 7808 stamp . Stamped 8 with this special font is so close to a 6 that you need to look it twice before detecting the mistake .
Caseback mix by L. Breitling factory in its last period or parts put together by a Mr X ? or Mxxz? Difficult to be affirmative on any hypothesis . The Cal 11.2 would not be the easiest to source in the hypothesis of a post L. Breitling . Anyway a very nice watch, enjoy !

serial is half 70ies , may very well be a <1979 piece where the company tried to use up and sell everything they had at hand ?

and I do seem to remember we have seen more of these in the past. Now that could of course also mean someone build these after the liquidation . Not sure
