Hi All

I have been looking at the finer differences between the 1806 and the 816.

Is it the case that the 816 has a completely flat slide rule dial whereas the 1806 has an 'angled' or chamfered slide sloping down towards the middle?

Thanks.

Will

in my opinion they are the same

the crystal (if you compare the watches) is important, because different
crystals (if it was replaced / service crystal) makes differnt perspektive / look.

Even zhe slide rule from 806 should be the same (depending on the version
regarding the red markings).

regards

Stephan

they are totally different mechanically, even if they look similar.

Fred is correct
the big case sliderules have teeth (due to the rotating mechanism) on the underside and are angled , whereas the 806 / 809 sliderules are just flat with a tiny post on the underside which fits into a groove on the casering , or without post

these big case sliderules and normal sliderules cannot be swapped

Thanks all.
I have been told by a watch collecting friend that the 1806 and 816 slides differ! The 816 are apparently flat. I always assumed that all the big case slides where angled.

I will try to get images of the 816 showing 'flat' slide.

hold on , maybe I misread your post ?

I though you compared 806 (small case) with 1806 (big case)

but the 816 and 1806 are both big cases ?

Thanks

816 & 1806 should be mechanically compatible, have not seen (or noticed) differences up to now, but the pics abobe seem to indicate there are differences ...
neither would be compatible w/ the 806 and vice versa ;)

Glad I'm not alone in my assumptions! ;-)

but i am still confused and think this point about different slide rules

is not a question, if there existes different ones between 816 and 1806.

The question is perhabs, if there generelly existe different ones

plane / flat and curved (also both in 816 for example).

For shure is the plane/flat one

and does a curved one existe or is it just a visual illusion from
a often used crystal type?

We will find out together!

At the moment i think it is a visual illusion, but don't know.

Stephan
