I think this has been discussed before but what did we decide about these Wakmann style wings on some 18K 806's? I know I've seen them before.

Pretty good price for an 'incorrect' piece. Since there are examples of this same wings design on other Breitling's from the same time period who knows for sure. There is an explanation somewhere.

I'm as certain as I can possible be that it's al correct, as I have seen a handful of them in the past, and even discussed it with Theresa.

Why would someone with the artistic talent to make this gorgeous detailed logo not just make one identical to the
standard logo if this was a fake/redone dial? Everything else about the dial looks thoroughly original and correct and to me
it is only logical that the logo is original and correct as well.

Here's one I saw on eBay in April

Listing was deleted, believe it was fraudulent

But photo was real

I wondered if it was a real variation... But didn't pay too much attention as I think the other wings are nicer on the eyes.

maybe a special AOPA order for 10-25-50 pieces in 18K gold ?

some 3rd party redoing the dial with an AOPA dial ?

Typically these dials had the dual plane logo , so scrub that off the dial and reprint with an AOPA dial logo for some AOPA members that wanted an 18K watch when 18K watches were no longer officially available through AOPA / Breitling with the AOPA wing ?
