He don't know, but there could be the possibility, that Breitling started to do this,
but stoped it, because there is one thing for fact - the lume on the hand made a
lot of problems with some movement parts (for reason of the weight at the end
of hand).

That makes sense Stephan. And is interesting to think about.

think the lume was not applied by the hands manufacturer though - it looks and ages like the dial lume, not the lume in the main hands.

That's a very interesting and accurate observation.
I was having difficulty evaluating pieces with dial Lume that looked original. I'd think "If the sweep hand was not original, then how can the matching dial Lume be original!?" This makes sense.

Hi all.
I've just bought this Navitimer and I'm really happy with it generally.

I may have sounded a bit harsh in my initial response. You have yourself an attractive watch there. Ask Chronodeco if he has a hand to replace the blue one and send it in for service.

Thanks Eric. And thanks everyone!
Such interesting stuff and fascinating insights.
Could it be possible that my dial was relumed at some point and at the same time the chrono hand tip was done. Looks that way to me.
Must've been a long time ago though cos it looks lovely to me.
I'm going to contact Craig/ Chronodeco and see what he can do.
Thanks again everyone.
Happy to have found you.
Ooh, by the way, what do you think of this watch?
I love this particular one. So attractive to me.
David.

Hi all.
I'm still on the hunt for a sub dial hand for my Navitimer 806.
Quick question.
Does the Top Time use the same sub dial hands as the Navitimer?
Obviously not all references, but here's a pic of a ref 810 which uses the same calibre 178 movement.
Could it be that the sub dials are the same as the ones used on Navitimer ref 806's?
Thanks,
DT.

Well, no. That's true.
But old tired Top Times are more affordable than Navitimers so I'm thinking I could source one like that and nab the hand...

Hi all. I know I'm dragging this one out but I saw this watch today at a great price and was thinking "are these the same sub dial hands as the Navitimer 806 too?
It's a 1450.
I know it's a shame to take the correct hand off this one and put it on my Navitimer but they're just not coming up as spares.
Appreciate all support.
Thanks,
DT.

I am currently not even dismissing the lumed chrono hand tip , I have seen other examples and contrary to my earlier beliefs it may even be original that way .

Teddy4paws on ebay, whom many go you may know , is a retired watchmaker and occasionally pops some NOS Breitling parts on eBay for sale. A fully reliable source. He currently has 2 806 sweeps that have lumed tips that he bought straight from Breitling, so seems lumed times are factory original.
