Bought a ref. 2110 last year with horrible hands. They had been painted glossy red (got fooled by pics on eBay, I see it as part of the game, especially on eBay so my bad). Other than that the watch checks out. Finally this week, I managed to source some NOS hands from a 80 year old watch maker here in Oslo who've had them in stock since the early 70s:

Of course, best is to get an original unmolested one, but considering the circumstances I'm ok with it. They sure stand out though. :)

Any thoughts solving it like this? Collectability and so forth? If I sell sometime in the future I will disclose the fact that this has been done of course.

I think they look great !

w/ regards to collectability , these have been very under appreciated for a long time , it may take awhile but I think there is a lot of room to increase in value

Thanks Rene!

Funny thing, this watchmaker had NOS hands for a bunch of references, 7650, 809, 806 etc. etc. They were stored in old containers with the reference numbers written on them.

Personally, I really like these old Chrono-Matics. Compared to the Heuer Autavias (similar dial, same cal. 11 movement) they are a bargain.

No problem to proceed that way , this happy find brings back your watch to its original aspect . Congrats!
Those Chrono-Matic are the last models from the glorious period of Breitling , just before the watch crash . Under appreciated , the market is still on the buyer side , for how long?

Ditto. Hands are always hard to find. I've got cases covered.
