What is the significance of the ◘-4-3-2-1 between the 10 and 11 and the ◘-4-3-2-1 between the 11 and 12? Something other then a simple countdown?

thanks,

Rob

So, it's a 10 minute countdown (or two 5 minute countdowns). But which hand would you set to countdown the 10 minutes?

I don't suppose races always start at the top of the hour....

I believe on that quartz module you can set the chronograph to start earlier but I am no expert on quartz so wait for others to confirm.

Yes you can set it earlier or later than ten minutes.

I'll have to get a copy of the manual and see how that's done.

I believe it's used to try to get the boat up to full speed at the point of crossing the starting line, without jumping the starting gun. (penalty)

Crown out one click and press lower chrono button to move the minute hand around to Regata count down. You can set the minute hand to any position so the count down / zeroing can be set zero/12 or between 1 - 59 min.
