A new addition to my Menagerie! A 1945 Breitling Ref 178. When I was considering buying I toyed with the idea of changing the case because it was severely scratched on one side. Fred stated it was quite expensive because fitting the pushers was a difficult procedure and Craig agreed. With the damaged case and terrible photos the seller accepted considerably less than what he was asking. After 20 minutes with Rotary dental hand pieces and small polishing discs it came out fine

Thanks. I was considering transferring it to a new 178 case I have but it looks acceptable. Poor pictures by seller made watch look gold plated but when I got it I discovered it has a stainless back and body was chrome plated. That's when I decided to see if I could polish it out. And it came out acceptable When I get it serviced I will have the case rechromed.
