The Galactic Unitime looks ok; can't put my finger on exactly why I don't love it in the photos, but definitely great to see an in-house 3-hander. I look forward to seeing that one in the flesh. Good size at 44mm. I like the superocean II. A good clean dial, nice bezel, and preferable sizing; that one's a winner for me. While I don't personally like the MOP color, the colt looks like a nice watch. I love the bezel. The Bentley is just plain ugly. I have't seen a Bentley I've liked for a while, not that I could wear one anyway. A shame. Prices are high but that's expected. Overall very nice.

I'm a definite fan on the Galactic Unitime (except the stoooopid "Galactic" name). The size is great, the fact that Breitling have now FINALLY produced an in-house 3 hander :woohoo: (56 jewels by the way! ), and the use of tungsten (which I personally love as a material) all adds up to a winner in my book. I agree with Roff that the map could do with a little more detail, but I'm sure that is exacerbated by looking at huge high-res pictures on a computer screen. The only significant issue is the price - $9000 is a lot of money for a 3 hander IMO.

The SOII is much better looking that the old model IMO as the dial harks back to earlier models from the late 90's/early 2000's....which is a good thing. Good to see the bezel now has a pearl again.... but they still need to ditch the rubber insert IMO. One thing I don't like though (and this is a personal bug-bear of mine) is the way the date window cuts off the side of the 15. I really wish Breitling would start making date windows a little more low-key and unobtrusive on all models. (Incidentally the date window on the Galactic Unitime looks nicely done to me). Slightly puzzled by the need for 3 different sizes of SOII, but not really an issue I guess.

The Colt 36 is a nice classic and inoffensive design which is a nice one for the ladies.

The new Bentley is frankly hideous. The concentric rings on the dial look like an old LP, and the prominent surround to the date window (at the dreaded 4:30 position!) upsets whatever balance there is to the dial. They're looking more and more like the worst parts of Hublot as the designs keep coming. As Tim said, it's been a while since I've seen a Bentley I'd want to own..... and this one does nothing to change that!

I really like the Galactic. I'm anxious to see some real life pictures . The $9K price tag is a little hard to swallow but i guess that's the price to pay for going in house. I was excited to see the new Superoceans. I like the dial although I think they could go without the additional 13-24 hour markers on the dial to clear it up some.

My thoughts exactly.

After going to website and checking out the SO II further, I am liking it more and more. They really do look a lot like the older versions (1995-2010 years) but with the colored rubber (which I don't mind) bezel. The thickness specs. are listed as 14.2 mm (vs. present 16.7mm) for the 44mm model and 13.3 mm (vs. present 15mm) for the 42mm model. Price is $250 higher for the 44mm than 42mm, both still come in under $4000 for the rubber/deployant option. I like the brushed case of the 44 but would come down to trying them to see optimum fit.

Will also have to see the blue color in the metal, safe bet may be black though.

So far, so good, new Colts and SO's - what's next? :)

Galactic Unitime: Quite like it plus new break through. The only part I don't like is how they frame up the "Breitling 1884".

Superocean: Well, safer looking and less polarizing. I must say I quite like the blue one. However looks more generic and a little Sub Wannabe IMO. The only way to attract buyers is to offer an attractive price for it. Too many numbers on the dial causing unnecessary distraction. Numeral hour markers not necessary IMO. But well, even with redesign I feel that it still contains the Superocean DNA and still has that common look as the previous series. So...I guess overall a winner, although not attractive enough to make me wanna get one.

I like the SuperOcean 44. Really like it.....

Except

For

The

Rubber

Bezel.

I cannot personally justify spending that much money on a 'dive' timepiece that, in light of the Submariner re-design to cerachrome. Just my opinion. I'd love to buy that watch but just cannot bring myself to do it. I may, however, take a second look at a submariner 'C'.

As far as the Unitime, B55, Bentley models.....meh. In my opinion just more iterations of the crap Breitling has been pumping out the last few years. I had my hopes up that last year's Chronomat 'rediesign' would lead to bigger and better changes to their bezel styles this year but it looks like that's not to be.

Also I'm curious to see if this is all we get this year in terms of new models or even additional varieties of existing models (solid gold Navitimer B01, perhaps?)

Disappointed. :x

The Breitling website also has a new 38mm Chronomat listed. It has the same tungsten bezel as the new Galactic.
http://www.breitling.com/en/models/chro ... onomat-38/

I think its a good looking watch however its over $7000 and it doesn't look like it has an in house movement in it.

Along those same lines, they also show a three hand 36 Galactic: $4850 (may have already been revealed ?)

Like the SO2, even with the bezel. Really like that 38mm Chronomat, any larger size for that?

Don't like the fact that they placed the name "Chronomat" on that piece when it is not really identical to the Chronomat series. It will confuse consumers and cheapen the Chronomat series, especially when the Chronomat series has been in-house for sometime and suddenly they place a non-house in the series.

Don't know why I don't seem to like what Breitling is doing recently. Too many new releases, but no focus. Seems like they want to capture the female market with some of their new releases, but IMHO instead of releasing multiple female models at one shot, they should just launch one, with an in-house movement. Something that can really capture female consumer's attention. A female Navitimer to kick start the in-house would be awesome.

IMHO many of their new releases are nice, many comment or praise them, but looking nice is one thing, are people going to buy? The new female pieces are nice, but still non-house. No in-house female pieces yet. To me they are just launching the same old thingy. We are not talking about a few hundred dollars watch here so there has to be more factors than just looking nice in order to attract purchase. There are so many nice looking and classic looking watches out there. Designing a generic safe looking watch that looks classic or identical to some successful models will only attract praises but not purchases IMHO unless if the price is very very attractive.

Well to have a new 3 handed in-house is great but we need to have a proper iconic model to boost it. The Galactic Unitime just simply looks safe, less polarizing but nothing distinct that can cause me to remember it.

Lastly not to mention the new Superocean, again looks less polarizing and I guess the reason why they did not adopt ceramic bezel and in-house is because they want to keep costs low and use Superocean as an attractive entry level Breitling watch. However it looks Sub Wannabe IMO and I certainly feel majority will still prefer to cough out more money for a Sub instead. In-house + brand iconic + ceramic bezel + higher resale certainly justifies the extra cash and makes it more value for money. Even if I cannot afford a Sub C, I can always go for an older Sub. There are also many other Sub Wannabe choices out there. Ya the new Superocean is nice, but lacks character and insufficient factors to justify a purchase IMO.

Overall I am just sitting back and enjoying the new releases but so far nothing has "wow" me yet. I feel that Breitling needs to improve on their marketing strategy. Increasing prices are not enough to position Breitling higher end IMO. Instead somehow I feel that their image have been cheapened with so many new releases lately. I cannot even remember one distinct model that they launched recently because there are too many and no focus. It kind of like gives me this impression now that Breitling watches are very easy to make and mass produced nowsadays.

Apart from the price (ridiculous) I really like this watch. Great clean sporty look, and great that they've used Tungsten in the bezel; I just really like how it looks. However I do agree with Chronomat that it may be confusing to have a watch called 'Chronomat' that doesn't look like all the other Chronomat's. They could've called it something else, but still overall a very nice looking piece for me.
