I like this one a lot :D

http://www.breitling.com/en/models/colt ... automatic/

Brushed combined with polished surfaces, attention to details when you look at the subdials and markers, non screw down chrono pushers, good old 7750 ticking inside...

OK, some people don't like rubber on the bezel (I have no opinion on this yet) and it is 44 mm (I have a smaller wrist) but all in all :lingsrock:

Nice addition to the Colt lineup, seems logical after the introduction of the new Colt 44 versions last year. The white dial/black subs looks interesting.

Yeah I like this more than the quartz version. Interesting how the tab at 12 has been engraved.

This would be a direct challenge to the Avenger II chrono then.....

Saw this as I was heading into a meeting and wondered what the reaction would be here by the time I could check. Agree with what has been said so far, I like it a lot, if I had to come up with a criticism it would be that it isn't uniquely different - it's not obviously a Colt at first glance. With what they did with the previous generation that may be a good thing though :-)

That was pretty much my feeling, in both respects, ie at first, 'hmm, not very distinctive or arresting', and then, 'given what they've done with some designs in recent years, phew'.

I agree, not very distinctive, but it has that Colt body and Breitling DNA.

And, to me, it looks simple, robust and well balanced - a perfect entry level Breitling chrono that will attract some people to the brand. Wonder how will it be priced...

Curious about the price as well, was literally going to order a Avenger II Chronograph today, but has me rethinking a bit. Could be a good daily beater. Might just buy this an addition to the collection regardless. Originally had turned me off that last years introduction was a Quartz movement. Have such an obsession with mechanical watches.

I like it but my only problem is the 6 rows of text below the wings logo. I don't think all those lines are necessary.

A winner for me. I like the textured dial: reminds me of the SOSF. I like the batons and subdued sub- dial fonts. Design wise, it seems a fine line to walk: if it's too different Breitling can be charged with abandoning their design heritage. But if it stays within the design heritage they can be accused of not being uniquely different. I'd happily wear this watch.

I love it.....and that's a first for me to say about a Colt.

I see what some are saying about it not being particularly new design-wise, but frankly I'd take a watch like this a million times over compared to some of the monstrosities Breitling have produced in recent years. I love the size, the subtly textured dial and the applied markers, but for me the absolute triumph is the bezel. For me it's a perfect blend of the old and the new. If only they'd put that on the Chronomat 01 from the outset everyone would've loved that watch from day one.

I agree with Nov - I'd happily own and wear this watch.

I like it, but it's too big for my wrist. Also, it doesn't look like there is rubber in the bezel..

I also like it.
I don't have a problem with the six lines of text but then I like busy dials.
Not uniquely different? Well, that's what we have been asking for when we asked for evolution not revolution.
I think it is tastefully updated yet it retains its basic modern Breitling DNA.
One thing though and I'm not sure if it is the way these images make it look like but it seems like the case is polished and the bracelet is brushed. It could be that they tried to match the brushed bezel but I still think that brushed bracelet looks a bit odd between those polished lugs.
Nevertheless, a nice entry level Chrono in the lineup.

Yes, all the new Colt 44 versions introduced last year have brushed bezel, polished case/lugs, brushed pro III bracelet and this Colt Chrono Auto keeps that design. I myself would rather see the case brushed also.

I really like the look of the watch. Black-Black is a great and very in look. Also, as a Colt owner, I think you get a lot of watch for your money.

Some other things to think about.

I own an old Colt Quartz chrono. The push settings without screws require a change of gaskets every year or two to be safe.

I also own a silver dial Colt 2 Automatic with a pro 2 bracelet. When I bought it, I was concerned that it looked too shiny- blingy. The jeweler recommended that I let him brush the outside links but I hesitated because I was concerned that it would affect the look and resale value. Fast forward a year to last month. I let him brush the outer two links and the top of the case, not the sides of the bezel or case or middle links. The bezel is already brushed. And I think it looks great. If you have a similar watch bracelet combination, and think it is too shiny, give it some thought. If done well, it is more reserved but looks great.
