I have the opportunity to purchase a newer-model (released within the last year) pre-owned Breitling from a reputable AD who is well-known on this forum. Watch comes with everything except the warranty card. AD will back the watch with their in-house warranty.
My question is, if the AD will provide the serial number (which they may not do) could I'd verify with Breitling & perhaps have them send me a new warranty card?
I think the most likely scenario here is that the watch was originally purchased from a non-AD. which is why there is no warranty. If the watch were several years old I could understand the missing warranty, but with a watch that is likely six months old tops, this seems to be the most reasonable explanation.
The deal on the watch is good but not exceptional considering what I've seen these going for used here & on other forums. I have no doubt that the AD is totally above board and will stand behind the watch. I just want to understand my options and decide if it's beteer to grab this one or wait for one through private channels that might include an activated warranty card.
