Hi,

I was pretty sure I read here that people succeeded getting service history from BUSA.
I just gave them a call and a lady on the other end said that there's no way they can get it based on serial number alone - they'll need a watch.
is there any way to get it?

thanks!

Not sure about getting the service history if you don't already have it. But when you send it in for its eventual tune-up it sounds like they can provide it to you then. You could always ask the person that you bought it from.

They can provide details of last service, they generally won't provide it without validation that the person asking is the owner of the watch.

If they won't provide service history..how would the owner know whether it's time to service for older watches? Seems like one has to pay to find out.

The watch will 'tell you' when it needs servicing in the form of reduced power reserve and / or inability to maintain COSC. Many people will also service an older new acquisition as a matter of course if there is any doubt. Servicing records are maintained at a regional distributor level anyway so watches that travel the globe often lose service history.
