I was going to buy an extra pro3 from amj too. If you ever move it on, remember this thread and get in touch.

One coral listed (on bracelet) on Chrono24:

In Holland. Asking c£1400 and would presumably go a bit lower.

Yeah I saw that one, but it is the final edition dial with the early bracelet, something is not right. Not a fan of the older bracelet it is wearing anyway.

Mark worthington have one for sale but it is 2295, crazy money and they won't budge much.

Yes I thought the bracelet was wrong there.

Shame MW won't budge. I agree that that price is high. They cite replacement price as £2630 but not sure where that's from - I thought list on bracelet when it was disco/d was £2200. They're also doing that standard thing of defining the age of the watch by its orig sale date, in this case June 2011. But that incarnation was only available from autumn 2008 to spring 2010, so you would assume production from something like spring 2008 to autumn 2009. (It was retained for an overlap half-year (into 2010) alongside the new SO42 and SO45, which first appeared in March 2010.) In short, I'd wager that if they looked at the date-stamp they'd find it was no later than early 2009, which would make it nearly 6 years old and due a service before long. A possible bargaining chip...

Anyway, good luck Toby. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Yeah MW always go by the sell by date, not taking into account how long the watch was sitting around before. I tried bargaining with the service due idea but it got no where. They are adamant the high price is because it is the rarest dial colour (by volume sold) though by popularity and sellability it's often the least sought after. I even mentioned that AMJ had 2 new ones for less last year and then a second hand one last autumn (plus Ricardos) so they hardly seem that rare or worth 2295, but they stuck to their guns and I didnt buy it sadly.

I have had dozens of Breitlings over the past twenty years and oddly enough, now own almost all SQ, with a lone mechanical [Lemania powered Cossie]. I don't have to put anything on a winder, can pick which I want to wear on a particular day without having to wind and set it, and best of all, being SQ, each one agrees with the others and they are all spot on with the atomic clock...

The ready to go at anytime benefit and accuracy is a huge appeal for me. I looked at the colt quartz yeterday and really liked it. Will be buying in next week or two I think

Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's "junk".

Image. Bought this Quartz machine the other day. I've also been in the Automatic Camp for a bit and decided try the dark side. I must say I a very impressed. It's very easy to use and you never have to double check that the time is still correct. Just pick up and go. Still love the alive feeling on the my arm of the Automatic too. I think both have their pros and cons.

Have two quartz Breitlings and a couple automatic Breitlings. I've kept the quartz Aerospace EVO probably the longest of any watch. No regrets here.

My everyday watch is Colt Chrono Quartz. I’ve owned and wore it for over 9 years non stop – at work, home, gym and in the bush. I never take a watch off my wrist. Although I own automatic Transocean Chrono and a Submariner, I rarely use them, as even though I keep them on a winder they are constantly out and need adjusting. From a practical perspective Colt is an outstanding all round watch. A MAJOR advantage of its quartz movement is that time and date can be changed without interrupting its running. This is very convenient for travel. 99% of people would not know whether it’s Quartz or Auto.

No sense in quartz on an analog watch; for anything smart it makes absolute sense. I do use watches for specific functions (like tracking laps when swimming); quartz is the only option there. For me I don't care what other think about what I have on my wrist however I like a nice automatic much better that a quartz watch. It just seems to have a touch of elegance and a tie in to tradition. I've got a whole bunch of quartz analog watches I can't and won't wear. They likely all need batteries at this point.

after lots of thought and listening to opinions I am now set on the quartz, the accuracy and the lack of continual adjustment is a huge draw, I just can't be bothered to waste time checking if an auto is running to cosc spec or restarting a stopped watch, my ocd just could not handle it. Like you said most people will not know or care if its an auto or quartz, I just want the looks and quality of breitling in a hassle free package that I can just put on and forget about for years to come. The potential to go up to 8 years before a cheap battery change is a bonus too.

sadly the 3 hander quartz colt can only have the date set without stopping the second hand, changing the hour hand stops the second hand from what I have read, only the chrono does both independently.

Autos are wonderful but they have drawbacks and for my needs and lifestyle a quartz suits, and I do think that making a watch accurate to about 10 seconds a year is a tecnological marvel that is often overlooked when people make sweeping statements regarding quartz having no place on analog watches, autos and quartz have their place for different reasons.

I have an auto... Breitling (Super Avenger 1) and a quartz... Breitling (Chronospace Blacksteel)

I like them both. Who cares if it is an auto or not?
