Can the coloured chapter ring on a Superocean Abyss be changed? I have a red and I'd like to change it to black, but keep the red-tipped second hand. Anyone done this or know of a source for a new dial or chapter ring?

It can't be done (officially) and would cause problems in servicing as Breitling would want to restore to what they consider to be 'correct'. Breitling will change the dial colour as part of servicing but the cost is prohibitive - better to sell and buy the one you want.

Thanks. I've been a long-time Watchuseek member and posed the same question there, with a similar response. I'm going to phone the Breitling service number tomorrow and see what they say. If its too expensive, I'll post an ad to see if anyone wants to trade.
