David alterted me to that:

http://chrono24.auctionata.com/intl/o/9 ... land-c1950

typical "Breitlinged" Chronographe Suisse "Tourist Chronograph", pathetic.
hope nobody falls for that one, the opening bid plus fees would already be 2k plus.

Looks genuine to me[but hey, i'm no expert], so what gives it away as being :guns: fake?

these are actually VERY easy to verify.

Chronographe Suisse 18k cases were launched post war as "Tourist Chronographs", cheap, paperthin 18k cases, often hollow lugs, cases neded metal inner casebacks to stabilize the case, the 18k caseback is a thin decorative cover - used for unbranded or house-brand pieces by many small watchmakers and mid to low end manufacturers.

Breitling never used these cases for it's 18k models, these were all massive and well made.

case is also missing the correct serial numbers ALL Breitling chronographs had, 6-digit between about 6xx.xxx and 8xx.xxx for the period

also absent is the three digit model ref - on outer caseback mostly. Should be 17x format for ALL correct Venus 170 Breitling models (the only occasion movement caliber and model ref show such similarities, btw.)

pathetic junk.
