I've had mine on order since it was announced. Hopefully it comes in soon! If there is issues with them, i'd rather wait the extra time.

In France, Europe, the B50 won't be available since last December 2014 this year...
(Paris Opéra Boutique)
I really want to see it, this B50, perhaps to replace my old B1 SQ, I will wait & see then

I'm really sorry to hear about your issues. This sounds like my headache with my Chronomat B01 that was one of the first off the production line. It was sent back 4 times for the same chronograph problem . . . and it still doesn't work properly. I decided just to deal with the issue, as it was a present from my wife and is engraved, so it has immense sentimental value. I'm hoping Breitling bucks up and fixes it properly when it's time for service.

Wow, this is really confusing, this is a 'superquartz' so is it not all in the programming of the buttons? I would ask for some kind of explanation as to how you ended up receiving 4 defective units. You have video of the issue and how it can be reproduced. I would have expected quality control to be extra attentive to ensure that the function works to specification prior to returning a watch back to you. But hey, that's just what I would do. And if all these went through QC and you still have an issue, then it speaks to something more serious, which is sad.

I do hope you receive some compensation for all your troubles. And of course a working watch.

Good luck.

Re-read the OPs post, he said they all worked initially. So QC can't fix it if it worked. These all sound like a design error. Could be worse, could be an ignition lock on a GM car...

Latest news I have is that all Cockpit B50 models have been recalled to fix the crown sensitivity issues. Relaunch is scheduled for early next year. Pretty disappointing to say the least.

Breilting don't seem to care about the issues with this watch. Here's an interview with Breitling CEO Jean-Paul waxing lyrical about the B50 -

http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/9105e63c-498a ... z3IbsUF6Um

After 4 faulty watches (2 of which where 'personally' guaranteed by Jean-Paul to be fault free) I decided enough was enough and got my money back.

Pity really, but glad you got your money back Al Taylor at least.

I agree with Ken. Possibly a design fault or something consistently occurring in manufacture that has not been foreseen. Either way, not a good look.

I've just received some very encouraging news... Breitling have been in touch and they say they have now identified the problem that was effecting some of the B50's. They are going to give me a watch to wear for a month or so to test it thoroughly. It should arrive in the next couple of weeks.

They have also offered to fly me out to Switzerland to tour the Breitling Chronometry workshop to get a better understanding of the development process.

All in all a very reassuring, and most importantly, confident response from the brand. I will keep you posted.

Great news Al-well done. I've just had a call from my AD (Owen and Robinson) in Leeds who have looked after me. Apparently my Night mission is due any day. Apparently only 10 coming into the Uk in the first batch. Hoping it will turn up this week and hoping I wont have any of the issues you've experienced.

Chris

Thanks Chris. I'm pretty confident you shouldn't have any problems - when the CEO himself is sending you a watch to 'road test' they must be very confident that the issue has been resolved.

As a piece of design it really is fantastic, the second you get hands on it you'll know what I mean. For me there is nothing else on the market that has the combination that the B50 offers, so as long as the 'function' now matches the 'form' it will be a must have.

Don't forget to post some pictures when your watch arrives!

Gre3nday-Yeah they're good guys (and girls). I know Matt (manager) well. Got my Emergency from them years ago.

Al-Thanks, will post pics when I get it. Love the fact they've offered you the trip. Bit sad but do you know if you can get the Breitling polo t shirts?

Chris

That is decent compensation for your troubles. Business class tickets I hope? Of course, all this is with a view that you will re-purchase another B50.....
