Still looking for my first Breitling. Found this one. Comments and opinions would be appreciated. Also what is a reasonable price for this?

Actually I think his asking price is fair if the watch has been serviced recently and has no issues. Most all of us go through the for sale forums everyday.

Does this have a Venus movement? Should one ask for a pic of the movement when buying a vintage?

Venus 188. Never hurts to ask for a pic if it makes you feel better about the purchase. Most sellers won't have a problem with that but some of the Breitling cases from this era should only be opened by a qualified watchmaker.

Thank you for your answers. One last question please.
Does this watch look to be in excellent condition to you ? The reason I am asking is that I always like to purchase a watch in top condition, and thus if this watch is not that rare, I would be willing to wait for another one in better condition, even if it costs more.

it is an early Gen.2, so movement might already be marked Valjoux 7730, but it's just a remarked Venus 188. Condition is good, but not excellent, as the tachy ring is quite faded - but that happens with most of these. price is fair and does reflect these imperfections.
