I like the look and I am a hockey fan but this would be far better if it were a Blackhawks watch.

Blackhawks!!?? Hardly...how about the Red Wings since they already have the red in place?

He played for the Oilers, Kings, Blues and Rangers, none of whom have uniforms with red as a dominant colour so I fail to see any connection there. I guess that he had some say in the design as it carries his name, but yet more evidence for me that brand ambassadors don't work.

To me it is just another version of a standard watch, this time with a red rehaut.

I don't think the color rehault has a connection to one of his teams but more of a connection to his country.

I guess, although a white dial would then make more sense.

The caseback has his name and "99" on it, but I agree the dial isn't hugely "Gretzky-esque". That said, I actually really like the monochrome dial markings.........but I would've preferred a brushed case.

Maybe they should have shaped the hands in a hockey stick or had number 99 somewhere on the face??

That's the first thing I was looking for, was a 99 on the dial somewhere. By the way I had a lot of three putts on my last round of golf.

I really like the color combination here, however I could care less about Gretzky, well at least not enough to have his name on my watch!

:yeahthat I love the color combo but dislike the fact that they link the watch to some Tom, Dick or Harry. Even if they want to link the watch to someone I would rather they choose an aviator such as Yves Rossy.
