OK guys, bit of a flight of fancy this on my part (hence why I've not put it in with the existing LE thread). HOWEVER, I think it WOULD be possible as it is basically a Navitimer World, but I've removed the GMT hand, and I've put "125 Ans" on the dial for the 125 anniversary of Breitling (1884 - 2009) next year.

Personally I've always liked the idea of larger size standard Navitmer and the World case would do the trick nicely, so I've made both white and black subdial version - I loving the white subs incidentally! :) I've also included a mesh bracelet version using the bracelet off the SOH, as that harks back to the classic Navi straps from the 60's. What do you guys think?

PS - I realise this is a TOTAL flight of fancy on my part as I assume the price would probably be prohibitive for this LE purposes,........ but I still REALLY like it! :)

I hear from someone that I think I trust that there are some anniversary pieces planned for next year, and if that's true then I am sure that the Navitimer range will feature. I vcan't confirm the info, everyone else I talk to denies all knowledge, so maybe it's BS, but it does make sense - 2009 is 125 years of Breitling SA, 40 years since the first automatic chronograph (1809 Cosmonaute Chrono-matic) and 20 years of BUSA.

I'm sure though that any anniversary SEs / LEs will be all Breitling rather than customer commissions - but those are nice.

Nice job, congrats!

What about doing one with a day-date version of the Valjoux 7750? And I would love to see the Aviastar going under the same cosmetics (Navitimer case but countup lunette instead of the Navi logarithmic scales) with day-date, maybe original 41.5 mm size (see watch in the middle)...

BTW I prefer the Navi version with black sub-dials too...

Whilst I prefer the 3-6-9 Tri-Compax layout for the Navitimer, the all back on leather looks very sharp to me.

And nice work with Photoshop!

I absolutely adore that all black one too, in fact I am about to snatch one just like that. I might wait and see if the group buy heads in that direction I would want that.

Nice work Driver. I'd go for the black croc version too.

I'm a bit torn between the white subdials and the black though, I reckon they both look great.

Nice pics Driver. But if going black all the way, why not a black inner ring on the bezel too? ;)

Very nice work, D8. I didn't realise you were such a dab hand at photoshop. Very cool.

Am plumping for the white subs version on the mesh - very classy!

We can dream ...

They all look great, but it's got to be Black Subs on the Mesh :)

Thanks for the nice words guys - I appreciate it! :D

I have to say that while I really do like the red and black SOHC concept, I'd love this group LE project to result in a Limited Edition Navitimer, as the Navi is the quintessential Breitling IMHO.

However I think the problems would arise due to 3 things -

1) Cost. A Navi would probably be too expensive to get the numbers we'd need.
2) Size. At the very least I'd want a 43mm piece (and probably 46mm) which rules most models out........ and there are a few Navi Worlds in this group anyway. (Hence my idea on this thread of making an LE Navi out of a World, but without the GMT hand!)
3) The WR rating. While I personally don't care that the Navi is not overly water resistant, I know a lot of folks on here have a big problem with it.

Oh well, lets just hope that Breitling come up with something like this for their own 125 year celebratory piece next year!

All good points, Driver. I think the LE project has a much better chance of getting off the ground with some other than (and cheaper than) a Navi.

Having said that, your watch would add one person to the interested list (me). The red and black SOHC doesn't do it for me, but I am clearly in the minority there.
