Hey all, would like to educate myself a bit more about this one.

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Breitling-Co-Pil ... 2340ef2d00

I am confused on a few items...
Isn't the ref# 1765 usually used when referring to a Unitime model? To me, the watch seems correct for a ref#765 or #7650 except for maybe the second hand timer for the chronograph function is for a 7651 model. Bezel looks unusually pristine.

Caseback states 1765/36 which I believed was to reference the Valjoux 7736 movement but the advertisement states the Venus 178 movement.

Is this a genuine piece or something which was possibly put together from different pieces?

Mostly the 1765 refers to the unitime, (24 hour model) there are however known pieces that have the ref 1765 but are the AVI/co-pilot/yachting model and the 1765/36 avi/cp/yachting as well

My hypothesis :

The 1765 unitime was not very successful and breitling , going through hard times, used the cases and made them into better selling models like the AVI, CP and Yachting. I have seen enough of these and am convinced they are genuine , not 'franken'

referring to the odd vintage couple, René & Fred.

not excited, René has said it all - though that seller should be ignored/avoided.

Agreed Fred. And take a look at the price. As you would say, "highly optimistic". I would say, "crazy number".
