Hi guys , this is my first time here . We'll on any forums .

I am a watch lover and do have a few . I recently sent my breitling navitimer (old) or II not sure how to call it . I sent it for complete overhaul and will come back like new ;)

I was trying to find out the year this watch was made . Wempe told me that after contacting breitling there was no way of knowing when the watch was made ... Hopefully thy let will be able to tell the movement inside which my help this case . I thought of this forum to seek help .

Here is some photos and in the back the number said 81610 , I searched and found a website with all models . Late 80's and 90' were the 2 models that looked like mine . Although the 90's one had a (b) breitling logo at the end of the longest hand.

I personally think it's a 1987 --

If any of you can help me , that would be great .

Thanks and have a nice day !

No need to crosspost, please delete that second thread.

81610 Old Navitimer were produced between 1987 and 1990, in 1991 the numbering system changed, in 1993 it was replaced by the Old Navi II.

no way to date it to a specific year.

the correct way to tell the date of manufacture, is to remove the strap/band at the 6 o'clock position.
engraved on the case, between the lugs is a manufacturing date stamp.
