I agree that's a bit of a waste of a beautiful B19 movement as doesn't look it's best with that bezel, but it's still far from ugly IMHO.

(My personal favourite B19 equiped model is the Navitimer Olympus...... in fact it's one of my "Watches to get" in the 'What watches do you REALLY want' thread).

I'm still struggling to think of a REALLY ugly Breitling though..... Maybe I'm just blinded by the wings!

You'll forgive me for disagreeing slightly on favourite 19

If you didn't like my World choice as ugliest, then may I suggest the PCD Maritime Chrono - http://www.breitlingsource.com/watch_de ... d_187.html

 Yeah I guess I'll have to let you off for disagreeing on the 19 front! Your 19 will be very nice too of course...... once you finally get round to freeing it from your AD's safe!!

Believe it or not but I actually think the old style World is worse than that PCD Maritime Chrono. I bet they haven't worn particularly well with that dodgy old-school coating, but I kind of see them as a spiritual predecessor of the Blacksteel!

(And regarding this thread, I'm quite enjoying it!)

I'm enjoying it too - if nothing else it's a chance to discuss pieces that would otherwise be ignored most of the time.

There were some dodgy colour combos in the 70s, but the watches themselves weren't too bad, and of course some of the 40s / 50s ladies watches would seem odd to today's tastes, but I can't call them ugly for their era.

19 may be coming home soon - Mrs. Roff is supposed to be making a decision on her loom imminently at which point I'll no how much cash I have left

It looks better in person, but I know what you mean. Can't really call an Evo with romans ugly though can we?

A mate of mine really likes that colour dial. I've been worried about him for some time!

(In all seriousness I don't think it's too bad. Not great, but OK.... in a minty kind of way.)

I think as a ladies model it looks quite good, even with stones on the bezel.

Is that an Evo or the Chrono Cockpit? I thought only the chrono cockpit came in that color.

I agree totally :!: I even would go so far to say it would look better with stones on the bezel but ONLY on a girl or womans hand.

Actually you can get that dial color for a 18k white gold Chronomat - at least in Japan. :?
