Is Breitling with the leather straps durable enough to wear everyday and get beat around? I have a Rolex Date Just that I used to wear daily and occasionally would just polish it and it looks like new again. The leather strapped grew on me so I tested the water with a Tissot PRC 200 that recently died on me in less than a year. Breitling Montbrilliant or the Navitimer in 42mm seems to be a good replacement for the POS Tissot.

Been researching and I see a few different movement, definitely don't want a hand wind model, are the current model all automatic?

Breitling make manual, automatic and quartz models. The two that you mention are both automatic. Breitling straps are very good quality but all straps are ultimately consumables and after several years of continuous wear they are going to look a little the worse for wear. The deployant option is generally more durable than tang as there is less stress on the strap.

Excellent advice!

Dannieboiz, if you can find the Montbrilliant or Navitimer with matching bracelet, it is MUCH more rugged!

Thanks for the advice, I'll concentrate on those two watches to see what i find. I think ultimately I'd like to have the calf band cause I think it looks better with this model.

Like Roff said, their leather straps are very nice and are very high-quality but they are not cheap. They will look very nice in my opinion for a few years of regular use. After that they start to slip the other way. But that is long after most other leather straps would be dead.

Calf looks great and is a bit more versatile then the dressy croc straps. Good luck with you decision!

I agree. Save the original for special occasions & buy an after market for everyday wear. Best of both worlds really. Swapping is pretty straight forward if you have a springbar tool.
